Greetings Quail Run Clients,

We hope that this message finds you well and that you and your family are safe, happy, and healthy.  The changes to our daily lives that have been brought on by COVID-19 are very real and we would like to thank you all for your continued support in these challenging times.  We are very grateful that we have been able to continue operating the barn in a format that has allowed our boarding and leasing clientele access to their horses and our services. We are also thankful for the understanding of our school lesson clients that have had to wait patiently for their return to Quail Run. We miss you! However, we appreciate your sacrifice these past few weeks as we made the decision to follow the Governor recommended “Stay at Home” proclamation that has been in effect until May 4, 2020.

Beginning on Monday May 4th, 2020, there will be a new ‘relaxed’ Directed Health Measure in place for Douglas County. This new health measure still requires strong social distancing measures but allows for some greater flexibility. Therefore, we at Quail Run are happy to announce the return of our school lesson program! WELCOME BACK!! In celebration of this return, when a student books their first lesson back they will receive $10 off their second lesson. We can’t wait to see you all!

As we move forward in these strange times, here is the list of our current COVID-19 operational policies:

  1. Effective Monday May 4, 2020 we will be re-opening the school lesson program! There will still be scheduled time slots and all patrons to Quail Run will be required to use the provided sign up. School Program lessons will also be required to adhere to the following guidelines:
    1. Please strictly stay within your alloted lesson time slot.
    2. The horses will be groomed and tacked for you to reduce contact with Quail Run items.
    3. Parents, Family Members, Friends, and other spectators will not be allowed in the barn during the lessons.  A parent or guardian can be on the Quail Run property and watch the lessons when they are outside.  If you have a question about this requirement, please inquire with a Quail Run staff member.
    4. The barn is not intended to be a hangout location during these difficult times.
  2. Quail Run will require that everyone adhere to the following procedures:
    1. DO NOT come to the barn in you are feeling ill.  This includes but is not limited to exhibiting symptoms associated with COVID-19.  Since coming to the barn is not "staying at home", it is YOUR responsibility to take measures to protect the health of others and yourself.
    2. DO NOT come to the barn if you know or believe yourself to have been exposed to COVID-19.  This includes, but is not limited to, international or interstate travel, visiting a medical facility that has known cases where a 14 day quarantine period would be recommended, visiting a business or site where known exposure has taken place, or direct contact or exposure to a person who is clearly ill or has been confirmed to have COVID-19.
    3. WASH YOUR HANDS UPON ARRIVING AT THE BARN.  This should be the first thing that you do when you arrive at Quail Run.  Wash your hands frequently during your time at the barn, and prior to leaving.  Use hand sanitizer in between hand washing. If you need hand sanitizer, please contact a Quail Run staff member and we may be able to help.

    4. EXERCISE STRONG SOCIAL DISTANCING.  This includes remaining 6 or more feet from other people while at the barn (includes while mounted on your horses).  If you are not practicing social distancing in other areas of your life, do not come to the barn.  To assist with this process, Quail Run will now be limiting the number of persons allowed in the Lounge, Trunk Room, and School Tack Room at a time.  We will be limiting this amount to 3 persons per area.  If there are 3 persons in the room at one time, then you will need to wait your turn.  Please take advantage of the sink and tack cleaning hooks in the School Tack Room if the Lounge is full.
    5. PLEASE BE EFFICIENT WITH YOUR TIME.  Adhere to the time block that you signed up for.  During this time block please be purposeful with your time.  Your time at the barn should be used to visit or care for your horse, or to participate in a ride/lesson (includes grooming, tacking, and untacking).  The barn is not intended to be a hangout place, or a place to socialize during this difficult time.
    6. USE YOUR OWN TACK, EQUIPMENT, AND SUPPLIES WHENEVER POSSIBLE.  The more we can do to reduce the community use of items in the barn the better.  Please have, or obtain, and use your own grooming supplies (brushes, hoof picks, curry combs, etc.), lead ropes, crops/whips, saddle pads, tack, towels, bathing supplies, etc., and refrain from using common and/or Quail Run items. If there is an item you cannot get, find somewhere, or afford, ask a staff member and we may be able to provide such. In such case keep it under your own control and do not share.
    7. PLEASE SANITIZE EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH.  Quail Run has provided several spray bottles with cleaning products and rags to use.  We request that Quail Run patrons make use of these cleaning products to sanitize doorknobs, light switches, cross tie snaps, stall door latches, brooms, shovels, and anything that could be considered a common area.  Quail Run staff will continue to make a concerted effort to keep the barn as clean as possible, and sanitize common areas on a regular basis, but your help with this effort would be greatly appreciated.
    8. TACK AND GROOM YOUR HORSES IN THEIR STALLS IF POSSIBLE. This helps to reduce the number of surfaces (Quail Run grooming supplies, brooms, shovels, cross-ties, etc) you come in contact with at the barn.
    9. WEAR A FACE COVERING WHEN INSIDE THE BARN.  The current CDC recommendations include wearing a face covering when in public.  Quail Run will now require that anyone inside the barn wear a face covering (optional when mounted).  This face covering must be provided by you, the type of which to be your choice.

***ADHERENCE TO THESE POLICIES HELPS TO PROTECT YOURSELF, THE OTHER PATRONS AT QUAIL RUN, THE QUAIL RUN STAFF, AND ULTIMATELY YOUR HORSES.

  1. We will be slightly increasing the number of persons allowed at the barn. We will now allow 10 patrons in each time slot in addition to the Quail Run staff. Please try to be outside as much as possible and stick to the 3-person limit in the lounge, school tack room, and trunk room.
  2. Lessons will be guided towards a semi-private or group format.  During the time blocks that allow for lessons, Quail Run will designate up to 2 instructorswho will be available during that time slot. If you would like to take a lesson, it will need to be from the instructors that are scheduled during that time block.

We are hopeful that things will calm down soon and that we will be able to return to a time with far less restrictions.  However, we are grateful that we are able to keep our doors open and allow everyone access to our wonderful equine partners who undoubtedly offer some comfort and a sense of normalcy in these times that are anything but normal.  Thank you to everyone that continues to support us!  We love you all!

Greetings Quail friends!

We hope that this message finds you well and that you and your family are safe, happy, and healthy.  The changes to our daily lives that have been brought on by COVID-19 are very real and we would like to thank you all for your continued support in these challenging times.  Up to this point we have been very fortunate to have been able to continue operating the barn in a format that has allowed our clients access to their horses and our services.  We greatly appreciate your cooperation and flexibility in adopting the process for signing up for time slots.  Without this process we certainly would not have been able to continue.

On Friday, April 10, 2020, Governor Pete Ricketts announced a statewide "stay at home" proclamation that encourages all Nebraskans to stay at home for the ‘next 21 days’ to keep Nebraskans healthy.  "This is about people exercising their freedom to do the right thing".  It was made clear that this is not a 'shelter in place' order, but a proclamation that encourages all Nebraskans to act responsibly during these difficult times.

As a result, we at Quail Run have decided to enact the following updated policies through the duration of the stay at home proclamation which is set to continue through April 30th.  At such a time, we will re-evaluate how to proceed.

  1. Effective Wednesday April 15, 2020we will be suspending the school lesson program, and only Boarding clients and Lessee clients will be allowed to access Quail Run during the allotted times.  If you have a question about your status, please reach out to a Quail Run professional for clarification.
  2. The hours of operation will be restricted:
    1. The morning hours of 7:30am - 11:45am will be for Quail Run staff only.  Boarders/Lessees will be given access to Quail Run beginning at 12:00pm each day.
    2. We will continue to operate under the sign-up process, and request that all patrons adhere to their time blocks.

***ADHERENCE TO THESE POLICIES HELPS TO PROTECT YOURSELF, THE OTHER PATRONS AT QUAIL RUN, THE QUAIL RUN STAFF, AND ULTIMATELY YOUR HORSES.

  1. Quail Run strongly recommends that you act responsibly during these times and respect the statewide Stay at Home proclamation.  We encourage our clients to take advantage of the training ride services offered by Quail Run and to try to reduce the number of times per week that you come to the barn.  Perhaps this means a few more training rides and a few less lessons during this time period.
  2. Lessons will be guided towards a semi-private or group format.  During the time blocks that allow for lessons, Quail Run will designate up to 2 instructorswho will be available during that time slot. If you would like to take a lesson, it will need to be from the instructors that are scheduled during that time block.

Buddy Brown is back in Town! Dec 6-8, 2019

Buddy Brown is back in Town!
Dec 6-8, 2019

Quail Run Horse Centre is pleased to announce that we will once again be playing host to industry legend Buddy Brown!

DanCrusherMDP BB2014Buddy's clinics are always a great time!  He has developed a system that helps to bring out the best in each horse/rider combination by demonstrating the tools and concepts found in quality work that are the foundation for quality jumping.  His clinics are designed to provide a progression on these ideas.  Friday's sessions are typically geared towards flatwork, cavaletti, and gymnastic type exercises designed to practice the tools we need for successful show jumping.  Saturday's sessions build upon the tools and concepts learned on Friday.  Sundays sessions are the final test.  On this day we take what we have learned on the previous two days and apply it to navigating a more complex course.

Buddy's resume is impressive.  He has represented the United States on several occasions including the Pan Am Games, Olympic Games, a number of Nations Cups, and as a junior he was the winner of the Hunter Seat Equitation Medal.  Today, Buddy is a prominent clinician and a sought after Course Designer.  Additionally, Buddy continues to compete, although his focus has switched more to the high performance hunters in recent years.

Join us at Quail Run for this excellent learning opportunity!
